Mock NIH Grant Review
Deadline: February 21. 2025
This submission is optional.

CDI faculty members who have served on NIH review panels will conduct a mock grant review for all participants to observe. We highly encourage you to submit a research grant proposal to be reviewed during this session. The grant proposal should be limited to NIH style submissions (K award, R21, VA merit award, etc.). Submissions for the exercise may include previous or in-progress submissions far enough along in the writing and development to merit a thorough review. This exercise provides you with an unparalleled opportunity to receive constructive feedback from expert CDI faculty research reviewers.
In the past, participants who shared their grant proposals for review believed the feedback was instrumental in their grant preparation process, some indicating that it is like having a first round of reviewer critiques without the formal NIH review.
If you would like one of your grants to be considered for the mock review, please fill out the form below and attach an abstract. (The abstract should be no longer than 30 lines of text.) If your grant is selected for review, the CDI coordinator will be in touch to request additional grant documents.
PRIVACY STATEMENT: Access to all grant materials will be strictly limited to Drs. Forbes, Kupfer and Schatzberg, and the CDI Mock Review Committee. If your proposal is chosen for review, a de-identified copy of your proposal abstract will be included in the program workbook. Materials will NOT be published online.
If you have questions about whether your proposal would be appropriate, please contact us.
Preferred format: MS Word
